It was last year that I became a teacher. Since that time I have begun to learn how to teach. Now I would like to share my feelings of teaching during the past year with all teachers.

As a teacher, I think passion is very important. With passion, you can turn a boring topic into an exciting one; with passion you can lighten students’ hearts; with passion, you can see all the students’ eyes longing to learn. Only if a teacher has passion, will the students have passion to learn.

Passion can help teachers be more creative. If you have passion, you will try your best to make a class work well, and you may give students a fondness for any topic. Therefore, you must think of ways to arouse the students’ interests, stimulating them to learn from a topic. You may try out some new ideas, these being methodologies and creative lessons you have never tried before. So passion is the springboard of creative teaching.

Passion is vital in creating a good learning atmosphere in the classroom. When teachers teach with passion, students feel more encouragement to learn; if teachers don’t have passion, students will not be active in class. When I go into a classroom, I see the students’ faces and my passion is illuminated at once. When I am teaching, I see the students concentrating on what I teach, and this is a great encouragement for me. I am especially pleased when I ask students to express their ideas in front of the whole class, for then they are active in class, and they have different and highly valuable opinions; they can debate their point of view and try to make the idea clearer and clearer. Once I asked students to talk about which is a more important factor in deciding what we are, nature or nurture? Some students said nature is more important, others said nurture is more important. They had a fierce debate and showed some good examples. The whole class participated and all the students were quite fond of this.

Passion is necessary for a teacher, without passion, teachers cannot enjoy teaching and students cannot enjoy learning. Teach with passion, you will find your life will reach a fulfillment that you had not known before.
